MARCH: Over the years we have volunteered at one of the regional foodbanks Foodbank their partner programs.
MARCH: We hold a pair of fundraisers to benefit Foodbank of SE Virginia and the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.
AUGUST: we collect canned goods at the annual BIG TEN event.
NOVEMBER; We hold an online fundraiser to sponsor wreaths at Hampton VA Cemetery.
DECEMBER: We distribute wreaths with Wreaths Across America at the Hampton VA cemetery.

LATE SPRING/EARLY SUMMER APPLICATION: We offer a scholarship to local Penn State students.
AUGUST: Student Send-Off Picnic to welcome and "send off" local PSU students before they trek off to college!
OCTOBER: Represent Penn State at college fairs in the fall.
FALL: We send a gift card during finals week to local students attending Penn State campuses.
Support Penn State Athletics
ALL FALL: Of course, we host football TV Tailgates! We hold at least 4 chapter-sponsored watch parties, plus a bowl game, where we raise funds through a 20/20 raffle for our student programs.
TV Watch Parties may also include:
- Wrestling
- Ice Hockey
- Basketball
We cheer on PSU teams, D-1 or campus teams, when they are in the region. No matter the sport or the distance, we support Penn State teams playing at universities or sports centers from Va Beach to Williamsburg.

Why the local chapter needs your support
We are responsible for raising funds to sustain our chapter student scholarship. We have awarded thousands of dollars to help offset the cost of out-of-state tuition.
We also distribute "Care Cards" - gift cards to students to spend on snacks, etc., during final exam studies. Each fall semester, we send them to students from Hampton Roads attending any commonwealth campus.
